What the Fox Page 22

“Only because I wouldn’t let her turn the second guest bedroom into a nursery,” Selene said, rolling her eyes.

Kenzie looked up at the demon, and then at her grandmother and felt tears prick her eyes. This was her family – her real family. And they actually knew her, who she was, and what she wanted in life.

Never would she give up her computers and everything she’d learned in the human world, but she didn’t have to. She could be an engineer and a void witch. She could be a mate. Kenzie took Finnick and Hunter’s hands. Smiling at Ash, she knew that if it hadn’t been for their thieving asses she might have missed out on all of this.

“A nursery doesn’t sound so bad,” Ash murmured, never once looking away from her.

“Don’t you start,” Kenzie teased, kicking him under the table.

“Maybe in a few years,” Hunter whispered into her ear. “After you’ve done all the bad things you can think of and then some. We need stories to tell after all.”

She eyed Hunter. Kenzie honestly hadn’t thought that would be something he was into.

Hunter shrugged. “I like kids. They’re honest.”

Why did guys who want kids make her ovaries want to explode?

She was saved from having to say anything by the waiter bringing out five baskets of breadsticks and three giant bowls of salad.

“It really is endless,” Edith muttered, reaching for some bread. “How fascinating.”

“There’s more where that came from,” the waiter said. “Is there anything else you all needed?”

Her grandmother smiled up at him. “Are you on the menu?”

  “Gram-Gram!” Selene gasped.

Eisheth snorted and sat down. “I’m so glad I decided to come.”

  This was her family.

And Kenzie wouldn’t have it any other way.

Thank you for following me on this journey with Kenzie. This is the end of her current arc and I plan to continue writing more with the characters in Kenzie’s world, so keep an eye out for that.

  About the Author

Emma Dean lives and works in California with her husband and son. She loves romance but needed something different so Draga Court was born. Council of Paranormals was soon to follow when her shifters came to life.

With too many stories to write the schedule has been filled through 2019.

When she’s not writing she’s reading, or spending time with her family.

At least now that she’s publishing she has an excuse for not folding the laundry ;-)
